Create new reviewer

You want to add another reviewer after the review process has started, e.g. to:

  • replace a reviewer

  • add a reviewer to the existing database

Step 1: Create a user

Navigate to
> Users
> Menage user

  1. Click the Create new user button to open the user profile form.image.png

  2. Fill in the user details

  3. Assign the role "Reviewer" and confirm your entries by clicking Save.

Step 2: Allocate topic (optional)

In the second step you can assign one or more topics to the reviewer. This is only necessary if you want to use an automated allocation process by topic.


Navigate to
> Abstracts & Reviews
> Menage reviews
> Reviewer <-> Topics

In the columns to the right of the reviewers, there is a checkbox for each topic, indicated by a number or abbreviation in the heading.

You can find the Topic overview by opening the Topic overview link above the list, or an individual topic will appear when you hover over a number/abbreviation in the column heading.

  1. Tick the checkbox in the reviewer's line for the corresponding topic.

  2. Check the options:

  • "Only allow the allocation of topics to the reviewer"

    No abstracts will be assigned.

  • "Enable automatic allocation of abstracts and topics to the reviewer"

    This option will assign all abstracts in the topic directly to the reviewers.

  1. Confirm the by Save allocation.

Step 3: Assign abstracts

There are several ways to assign abstracts:
