Note: The difference between program types and categories is as follows:
Cateogories are used to define the event formats (e.g. keynote lectures, orals sessions, poster sessions, workshops, etc.) or topics you offer during your conference.
Each program item – whether you add it as a session, a lecture or an event – is assigned to a category.

> Define categories

Session

A session allows you to schedule multiple presentations on a specific topic and/or within a defined time slot.

Example

The example session starts with an introduction (type: lecture), followed by three presentations (type: abstract) and ends with a discussion (type: event).

Lecture

The program type "Lecture" is used to schedule invited talks by persons with the role "Invited speaker".

The Lecture program type is well suited for planning:

  • Keynote lectures

  • Plenary talks

  • Workshops

  • Panel discussion

(Non-scientific) Events

The "Event" program type is generally used for all non-scientific events without speakers, whether for general meetings, discussions, social programs or breaks.

Abstracts

Abstracts are only planned in sessions. This requires that the abstracts to be scheduled have been accepted. How to accept abstracts is explained here:
